Some Important Things To Note To Attract Birds To Your Garden
If you are fond of birds and want to have one in your own backyard you will definitely want information which are necessary for bird lovers. You will probably need to know about creative birdhouses; the unusual birdhouses; fancy birdhouses; best binoculars for closeup bird watching. You will also need to know about the right food to feed.
Some information that you need to know and understand are the following and these will be a great factor when you want to have birds.
Birds are basically attracted by the geographical locations and tend to move to the place that resembles to their favorite location. So, there is a need for you to look for specialty magazines and documentations to find out the type of birds in your area and the geographical location those birds like. You may also consult books based on the migration and species of birds to find out significant details about the species of birds that are found in your area in summers and winters as many birds migrate from one place to another. The best method is to take the photograph of the birds that you see in your surroundings and then find the information about that bird to recognize the type of location these birds thrive for.
The best thing to do to attract a large number of birds is to have a source of water, that is, a pond or pool of any size. This would attract many ducks, geese or birds at your garden and perhaps they will make it as their regular haven.
The next thing the birds look for is food, the second fundamental necessity for living beings. So, arrange for a place where there is an adequate supply of food such as bird seeds, bread or any bird food like corn. Many birds like to eat sun-flower seeds that are not hard to find and are inexpensive also. You must look for the needs of each type of birds in your area to meet their demands.
By considering the above stated strategies you can attract the large number of birds in your garden. You must not keep scarecrow or anything like that in the garden as it will probably scare the birds away from your garden. For instance- in many cases the neighbor’s dog is a big threat for the birds and birds usually do not like to live there where there are dogs.
Bear in mind, it is not right to think that every breed of birds would adjust with every other breed, therefore such two breeds must not stay together in your garden. The garden should have a natural look and there should be no noise of people or any such loud noises that may disturb the birds. It is very essential to understand the nature of birds you are inviting to your garden.

Why can’t I install . . .?
I recently bought a drafting program, SOLIDWORKS, something like AutoCAD, at a garage sale. I want to use it for woodworking hobby projects (designing my birdhouses, furniture, etc.), but not for business, which is illegal, of course.
I tried to install it on my new (2009) laptop, which runs on Windows Vista Home Basic. During the start of the installation process, a pop-up appears saying that I need to install it on a system which uses Windows 2000, NT4.0, or Windows 98/95, and the aborts the installation. The software disc is from the year 2000, by the way.
How can I make my computer allow the installation? Can I download something? What, from where? I don’t want to have to buy a new computer just to install this program.
HELP! That bears repeating: HELP!
You should try running in it compatibility mode for one of these older versions of Windows.
To do this:
Insert the install CD into your computer
Explore (not run) the CD. You should be able to see the files on it. (My Computer, Right click on the CD icon, Explore)
Find the installer file. It will probably be called setup.exe or something similar.
Right click on it.
Select Properties
(at the top tabs), select Compatibility
Check the box that says “Run this program in compatibility mode for:”
Select a version of Windows from the drop-down box (I recommend XP or 2000, but try both)
Click Apply.
Click OK.
Try installing by opening the setup file directly.
This should work.
If you cannot change the compatibility settings, then this is because the file is on a CD. In this case you should simply copy over the entire CD to a folder on your computer, change the compatibility settings on that, and use it to install.
