The best place to go for a Northeast (Cape Cod like) waterfront honeymoon a private beach or just good privacy?

We have never been on the east coast and want a place that is very pretty and nice in August that has good restaurants and good privacy. We would want a rental. Preferably a house. The location doesn’t even have to be in Cape Cod. That’s just the feel we want. Any suggestions would be fantastic. Thanks.

Gloucester and Rockport are on Cape Ann, above Cape Cod and less known. Half of Gloucester and all of Rockport is its own island, connected to the mainland with two bridges. They are both very beautiful and have rental houses in quiet areas. I know that Wingarsheek Beach (Gloucester) has its own neighborhood and private area to the beach where you cannot see the public side at all. Areas of Gloucester you should look into are Annisquam and Lanesville. Rockport is amazing too.

I grew up in Gloucester and I cannot enjoy pizza or subs anywhere else. We have a lot of Italian immigrants and the food is amazing. We also attract a lot of tourists because of our seafood. There are nice restaurants here as well. We are the oldest fishing port in America and famous for The Perfect Storm.

Definitely look into these places. I have never been to Cape Cod before but your post sounds exactly like where I grew up. My knowledge is more local, but family have stayed in rental houses on the water and they are amazing, private, quiet, but still close to civilization. Our main industry is tourism and there is a lot to offer, and I hear it is less crowded than Cape Cod.
